Unity V2 case for Raspberry Pi

Unity V2 case for Raspberry Pi

The Unity V2 case from Kiwi Electronics is a laser-cut enclosure that is relatively easy to assemble and provides protection for the Raspberry Pi and any HAT/add-on boards.

Specific instructions

  1. Unity V2 PoE case for Raspberry Pi 4
  2. Unity V2 PoE case for Raspberry Pi 5

Parts list

  1. 6x acrylic parts
  2. 30mm 5V fan (3-pin for Pi 4, 4-pin for Pi 5)
  3. Heatsink
  4. 8x 6mm M2.5 screws
  5. 4x 20mm F/F hex spacers
  6. 4x 6mm M/F hex spacers
  7. 1x hex tool for spacers
  8. 4x rubber feet

Remarks

  1. You will need a screwdriver for assembly.
  2. First remove the protective film from the acrylic parts.
  3. Because the parts are made of cast acrylic, there may be differences in thickness. We try to prevent parts from not fitting as much as possible. In the unlikely event that this does happen, please contact us for a replacement.
  4. If you want to mount the housing on the wall, make sure that the screws in the wall do not protrude more than 7 mm to prevent them from hitting the bottom of the Raspberry Pi.

Step 1

First, attach the 6 mm spacers to the bottom plate with screws as shown in the image below.

Step 2

Place the Raspberry Pi on the spacers and secure the 20mm spacers. The notch on the bottom plate should be at the back so that you can still access the microSD card.

Step 3

Screw the fan onto the top plate, as shown below. Place the sticker facing downwards so that the fan blows inwards. The warm air is pushed out of the housing through the vents in the case.

Step 4

Raspberry Pi 5

Press the fan connector plug into the FAN connector. This is easiest to do when the side plates have not yet been installed.

Raspberry Pi 4

With the Raspberry Pi 4, the fan is connected to the GPIO pins. Red to 5V, black to GND, and blue to GPIO 14.

Step 5

Now place the sides into the bottom plate. Start with the small plate near the USB ports, as this is more difficult to place once the other plates are already in place.

Step 6

Finally, screw the top plate in place, and your case is ready. If desired, stick the supplied feet onto the bottom plate.
